Full Professor, Aleksandra Vasilj, PhD

Chair of Maritime and General Transport Law

Aleksandra Vasilj was in 1964 in Osijek. She graduated at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb in 1986. In 2002, at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek, he defended the thesis entitled "Urban Traffic Market, with special attention to economic and legal solutions for its improvement" and gained the title of Master of Science (LLM). She defended his doctoral thesis titled "Issues of Public Authorities in Transportation Planning in Large Cities" in 2004 at the Faculty of Law Osijek in Osijek.

Since 1997, she had been employed at the Chair of Maritime and General Transport Law at the Faculty of Law Osijek. She was appointed as full professor in 2019. She lectures on subjects: Maritime and General Transport Law, Insurance Law, Inland Waterways Law, Basics of Transport Law and Management of Public Transport at the Faculty of Law Osijek and Transport Law and Forwarding at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek. As a field of scientific and professional interest she points out: maritime law, transport law, international law of the sea, transport insurance law, urban transport.

She has published a number of scientific papers and has actively participated in a series of scientific conferences in the Republic of Croatia and abroad. She is the editor-in-chief of legal and social issues journal of the Faculty of Law Osijek, "Paragraf" (annual journal of the best student papers) and a member of the editorial board of journal of the Faculty of Law Osijek “Pravni vjesnik”. She is a member of the Croatian Maritime Law Association, Croatian Transport Law Association and the Croatian Scientific Society for Transport.
