Biljana Činčurak Erceg, was born in 1981 in Vinkovci. She finished elementary school and I. gymnasium in Osijek. In 2007 she graduated at the Faculty of Law Osijek in Osijek. In December 2013 she defended her doctoral thesis "International rivers - navigation and protection of the river environment" at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb.

Since May 2007 she has been employed at the Faculty of Law Osijek in the Chair of Maritime and General Transport Law. Since December 2021 she is an associate professor. She teaches following subjects: Maritime and General Transport Law, Insurance Law, Inland Waterways Law and Basics of Transport Law at the Faculty of Law Osijek and Transport Law and Forwarding at the Faculty of Economics in Osijek.

As a field of scientific and professional interest she stands out: maritime law, transport law, international law of the sea, environmental protection law, transport insurance law.

She has published a number of scientific papers and has actively participated in a series of scientific conferences in the Republic of Croatia and abroad. She is the editor-in-chief of legal and social issues journal of the Faculty of Law Osijek, "Paragraf" (annual journal of the best student papers).

She is a member of the Croatian Maritime Law Association, Croatian Transport Law Association and the Croatian Scientific Society for Transport.
