To Whom It May Concern,
ECTA, leading European organisation in the field of IP, is happy to inform that we are
opening our October Webinars to University Students FOR FREE!
Here is what we have prepared for you this autumn:
• 14 October 2020 (16:00 - 17:30 Brussels time)
USER GENERATED BRANDS AND SOCIAL MEDIA VOCABULARY: SYMBOLS,
EXPRESSION, AND COMMERCE
Andrew Bridges (Fenwick & West LLP, US) will be moderating a distinguished panel of speakers composed of Alexandra J. Roberts (University of New Hampshire School of Law, US), Dr. Katja Middelhoff (CMS, DE) and Dev Gangjee, (Oxford University, UK). The aim is to examine and compare the function of those signs not protected as TMs or used exclusively for commerce, and that appear in the public space in mixed functions, mainly on social media.
• 23 October 2020 (13:30 - 15:00 Brussels time)
CURIOUS ABOUT CASE LAW
Our ECTA President Anette Rasmussen (AWA, DK) will be moderating a distinguished panel of speakers composed of Philippe Péters (NautaDutilh, BE) and Antje Söder (EUIPO, ICLAD, ES), to discuss the significance and practical implications of the following IP case law: C-328/18 P - Black Label by Equivalenza; C-237/19 - Gömböc; C-24/16 - Nintendo.
The webinars will be held in English via the Zoom Webinar platform. Please, kindly invite all your students who are studying intellectual propertly law to attend these engaging discussions by registering HERE. To benefit from a free registration the students need to select the category ’Full-time Students’ in the registration form.
We strongly believe in the next generation of IP professionals and want to support them by promoting high-quality knowledge and professionalism in this field of law. We hope that many of them will seize this valuable opportunity and join us this October!
Kind regards, ECTA
