From the day of its establishment in 1975 on, the Faculty has educated many generations of distinguished lawyers, who performed or still perform responsible jobs, including those at highest positions, such as judges, legal practitioners, state attorneys, diplomats, government officials and officials in local and regional self-government, employees in economic and political institutions, as well as those employed in science and higher education.
Until the year 2018, altogether 7816 students have completed their studies at the Faculty of Law Osi- jek: 5168 graduate lawyers, 1029 masters of law, 282 administrative lawyers, 601 professional bachelors of law, 677 specialists in public administration, 16 university specialists in human rights, 19 university specialists in criminal law and 21 university specialists in the management of local and regional self-government development.Three PhD students have attained their doctoral degrees in the scientific area of social sciences, the field of law. It should be added that there are 65 Masters of Law (LLM) and 46 Doctors of Law (LLD) who have attained their degrees outside the doctoral studies (under the pre-Bo- logna model). This implies that even before the establishment of the Doctoral Study Programme of Law in 2014, the Faculty has successfully organized and delivered postgraduate scientific studies.
Teaching activity has been continuously improved. Study programmes have been developed that offer possibility of vertical (cyclic) education in the field of law. This refers to the Integrated University Undergraduate and Graduate Study Programme (since 2005), which is completely aligned with the Bologna system of education, three postgraduate specialized study programmes (Management of Local and Regional Self-Government Development, Criminal Law, and Human Rights), and the Postgraduate Doctoral Study Programme of Law. The Postgraduate Doctoral Study Programme is a novelty, because junior researchers, lawyers interested in postgraduate studies, and other potential doctoral candidates have been forced for years to look for the highest level of academic education outside of Osijek. In the academic year 2017/2018, a new Undergraduate Study Programme of Social Work has been launched, for which there is an exceptionally high interest of students. A possibility of cyclic professional education has been ensured in the sphere of public administration by delivery of the Undergraduate Professional Administrative Study Programme and the Specialist Graduate Professional Study Programme of Public Administration.
