Library

Library collections provide access to library materials that meet our users' requirements in accordance with the mission and practices of the Library. Our collection of monograph publications currently comprises more than 36,000 volumes, including domestic and foreign literature in the fields of social sciences and humanities, primarily those of law, philosophy, politics, economics, sociology, history and relevant reference materials. A collection of 513 magazines and official publications (311 foreign and 202 domestic ones) follows the latest and most up-to-date information sources in the above mentioned fields available in multiple media formats. Database access is available through the Online Database Centre and through subscriptions to the legal databases HeinOnline, DigiZeitschriften, JStore and the legal portal IUS-info.

Domestic journals

The collection consists 200 titles available in printed form. Titles we are currently purchasing (70 titles) follow the latest and current sources of information from social sciences and humanities.

Foreign journals

The collection makes up about 314 titles. The processed and available catalog search has 187 titles. Current journals (40 titles) in multiple languages track current topics in law and affinity areas of eminent publishing houses.

Official Publications

The collection collects and makes available information from the field of official publications of the Republic of Croatia, foreign countries and international organizations. Official publications are those publications issued by state authorities, or bodies of local self-government and administration, intended for the public.

Our reference collection includes an enviable amount of contents such as encyclopaedias, lexicons, dictionaries and handbooks.

Our collection of doctoral and master theses provides insight into the results of a significant portion of scientific research activity, predominantly in the field of social sciences, and fully supports the scientific research work of the Faculty and related faculties in Croatia. It is an important source of scientific and other information, as well as knowledge on recent research and scientific projects.

The EDC collection comprises the official publications of the bodies and institutions of the European Union in individual fields of its activities and policies.

Our archival collection has mostly been built thanks to numerous donations of renowned lawyers from Osijek, dating back to the late 19th and early 20th centuries.

The Library carries out formal, content-related and analytical classification of its materials. The data on Library's collections are in compliance with the international and national rules of bibliographic cataloguing and classification (PPIAK, ISBD standards for various types of library materials, UNIMARC machine-readable record format and according to UDC (Universal Decimal Classification) rules of classification and subject organisation.

Faculty editions

The collection of faculty editions includes all titles published by the Faculty in Osijek from 1976 until today. Through the collection, users can see all editions in one place and get acquainted with the entire publishing production of the Faculty.
