Hrčak is the central portal of Croatian scientific and professional journals, which offer open access to their works (or at least the bibliographic data and abstracts of their papers). Users are able to find journals and works via browsing (by alphabetical order or the field of science) or searching by different fields. This portal was created and operates with the support of the Ministry of Science, Education and Sports, was realized in the Heart, and the basic idea comes from the Croatian Information and Documentation Society. 386 magazines is currently stored in Hrčak. |

The Directory of Open Access Journals was launched in 2003 at Lund University, Sweden, with 300 open access journals and today contains more than 10000 open access journals covering all areas of science, technology, medicine, social science and humanities. DOAJ is a membership organisation and membership is available in 3 main categories: Publisher, Ordinary Member and Sponsor. A DOAJ Membership is a clear statement of intent and proves a commitment to quality, peer-reviewed open access. DOAJ is co-author to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (Principles) and DOAJ members are expected to follow these principles as a condition of membership. |

SCIndeks is covering locally published journals (Serbia) classified as publications of scientific character. All of the journals listed are indexed on cover-to-cover basis. In addition to articles' titles and abstracts, SCIndeks metadata incorporate all cited references. The vast majority of articles are available at the level of full texts. |

About 13000 scientific journals are now available in the 'Open Science Directory'. When all the special program journals will be included, the Open Science Directory will contain more than 20000 titles. The Open Science Directory has been developed by EBSCO and the Hasselt University Library based upon a request by marine information management experts collaborating within the framework of the IOC's IODE programme. |

Persée is a program which was created for the digital publication of scientific journals in the field of the humanities. The entire printed collection of journals is digitized and published online through a portal which offers access to the collections as well as advanced functionalities which facilitate and enhance use of the portal’s resources. The journals are selected by an editorial board, thereby guaranteeing the collection’s scientific coherence. |
