Davorin Pichler

 

Davorin Pichler was born on August 26, 1974 in Osijek. He graduated from the Faculty of Law in Osijek in 2002. During his studies, he received a scholarship from the Ministry of Science and Education and was awarded the Rector's Award. From 2002 to 2005 he worked as a trainee at the Municipal Court in Beli Manastir. In 2004, he passed the bar exam. From April 1, 2005 to January 31, 2006, he worked at the Osijek Department of Informatics as a legal officer. Since February 1, 2006, he has been employed at the Faculty of Law in Osijek as an assistant. He defended his doctoral dissertation "Private health insurance in the health insurance system" at the Faculty of Law in Zagreb in 2013. In 2016, he was elected assistant professor, and in 2021, associate professor. He speaks English actively and German passively. He is a co-holder of the courses „Civil Law I“ and „Civil Law II“, „Medical Law“, and „Fundamentals of Civil Law“ and he is the holder of the „Copyright“ course at the Faculty of Law in Osijek. As part of his scientific research, he participated from 2020 to 2025 in the scientific project "Civil substantive and procedural law in the 21st century - the current situation and trends in the future" (IP-PRAVOS-7) funded by the University of Josip Juraj Strossmayer in Osijek. In his scientific work so far, he has published two scientific monographs and numerous scientific papers in domestic and international scientific journals and publications in the field of civil law, and has presented at scientific conferences in the country and abroad.
