Associate professor Paula Poretti, PhD Department for Civil and Family Law, Faculty of Law, J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek and vice-dean for education and students at the Faculty of Law Osijek. She has graduated from Faculty of Law Osijek, J.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek and received her Doctor of Law degree from Faculy of Law University of Zagreb, with the topic „Collective Redress in Civil Procedure“.  

She teaches at the undergraduate and postgraduate studies at the Faculty of LawJ.J. Strossmayer University of Osijek. Paula was a guest lecturer at the Faculty of Law University in Pécs (Hungary) and Faculty of Law University in Perugia (Italy). She was a member of the Jean Monnet Chair in EU Procedural Law and of the Jean Monnet Chair on the Cross-border Movement of a Child in EU where she participated in workshops for judges, lawyers and notaries in EU law.

As a researcher she was a part of the project team of the Planning the future of cross-border families: a path through coordination - "EUFam's" – JUST/2014 ACTION GRANTS project approved by the DG JUST, European Commission (duration: 2016-2018), and is currently a member of the project team of the Facilitating cross-border family life: towards a common European understanding- "EUFam's II" / project, no 800780, lead: Ruprecht-Karls-Universitaet Heidelberg.

At the Internal call of the J.J. University of Osijek in 2015 she was granted a research project  Društveni značaj zaštite prava potrošača (eng. Social significance of consumer rights protection) where she was the head of project and the main researcher.

She was a national researcher within several studies of the European Commission Fitness Check of EU Consumer law (DG JUST), Study on the practical application and impact of collective redress mechanisms in Member States, Evaluation of the EU Consumer Programmes 2007-2013 and 2014-2020 and An implementation report of the GPSD (General Product Safety Directive) (all three DG JUST and consumers). From 2019 engaged in the working group of the Ministry of Economy for the monitoring of the „New deal for consumers“ legislative package. She was also appointed a member of the National council for consumer protection in the same year. From 2021 she is a member of the working group for the Amendments of the Civil Procedure Act.

She held lectures at a great number of international and national conferences, published a number of papers and several book chapters. In the academic year 2017/2018 she was awarded for scientific excellence at the Faculty of Law Osijek.
