Quality management

Since Quality assurance and quality management are amongst the central challenges in the governance of higher education institutions, and in order to better fulfill its MISSION and VISION, The Faculty of Law Osijek uses its organizational units (especially quality related ones – the Quality Assurance Office and the Quality Assurance Commission) to monitor and analyze relevant indicators and other data and to use them as a source of recommendations and guidelines for quality improvements in Faculty operations and achieving its strategic goals in a more efficient manner.

To this end, the Faculty strives to:

  • build, maintain, and further develop a functional internal quality assurance system which is subject to change and improvement as new needs are recognized,
  • achieve a high level of institutional quality,
  • develop an institution-specific quality culture which encompasses all internal stakeholders (ranging from the management all the way to the users – students, with teaching and administrative staff in between),
  • maintain an active commitment to monitor and fulfill needs of its students, but also those of external stakeholders, its immediate surroundings and community needs, and the public in general.

The Quality Assurance Office and the Quality Assurance Commission are the primary organizational units which comprise the Faculty quality assurance system. Founded in accordance with the applicable University regulations and operating in coordination and cooperation with the management they are responsible for developing methods used for collection and analysis of different quality indicators, preparing and carrying out internal quality assessments, supporting external auditors in their assessments, and cooperation with University quality assurance bodies.

Another important responsibility that our quality assurance system had historically was preparing the Faculty and assuring compliance needed for the introduction of ISO 9001:2015 quality management standard. This has resulted in improvements in our internal quality management as well as in the relevant documentation. After a full certification cycle (from 2016 till 2019) it has been decided that most of the benefits brought about by ISO 9001 are sufficiently implemented and that the further development of our institutional quality management system should be more focused on Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG).

Currently all the reports and other documents produced by the quality assurance system are provided in Croatian language only, but specific data can be requested via contacts listed below.
