The subject Inland navigation law completes and complements the subject Maritime and general traffic law. River navigation has recently gained more and more importance since it is an economical and environmentally friendly mode of transportation. Special rules for this type of transport, numerous bilateral and multilateral international agreements related to the regime and regulation of inland waterway navigation are studied within the course. In particular, wharves, ports and land statuses within the port area are studied. The subject is also close to environmental protection, so the provisions on the protection of water and the river environment are also analysed separately. Students should apply the acquired knowledge to practice cases and develop independence and critical thinking.
