Bioethics: Crossing Disciplinary Boundaries CEEPUS network (

AT-0502-17-2627 )

Over the years, the Ceepus network ‘Bioethics’ has become more and more interdisciplinary and international, and now includes 27 members from 11 academic fields in 13 countries. Its title “Bioethics: Crossing Disciplinary Boundaries” is intended to reflect this development.

Crossing disciplinary boundaries creates new insights and helps to think out of the box. What makes the network special is that it ranges from university research to vocational studies, brings together scientific fields of study and philosophical perspectives and explicitly addresses ideological and religious perspectives on bioethics across religions.

While building on the contribution of the individual sciences, the aim is to approach current problems in search of joint solutions based on an interdisciplinary dialogue and on a reflection on anthropological principles. This is done in summer schools, through teacher and student exchange, the promotion of young researchers, as well as conferences and publications.
