The Jagiellonian University (JU), founded in 1364 is one of the oldest universities in Europe and leading research institution in Poland, conducting research across a wide range of disciplines. Today, the JU comprises 16 Faculties, where nearly 4 thousand academic staff conduct research and provide education to over 39 thousand students.  The eminent researchers and state-of-the-art infrastructure make the JU one of the leading Polish scientific institutions, collaborating with major academic centers from all over the world. The JU is a member of the various cooperation networks: AUCSO, Baltic University Programme, Coimbra Group, EUA – European University Association, EUNIS, EUROPAEUM, SAR, The Guild, Una Europa, UNITOWN and Utrecht Network. The most unique large-scale projects run by the JU include creating and development of research modern centres: National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS, Małopolska Centre for Biotechnology, Jagiellonian Centre for Experimental Therapeutics and Centre for Medical Genomics OMICRON. Currently JU conducts nearly 1200 projects funded by domestic agencies and by international sources.  Within H2020 JU’s scientists have won 63 projects. Within HEU JU’s scientists have won 28 projects. Presently, JU implements 9 European Research Council grants (ERC).  The Faculty of Law and Administration is one of the biggest faculties at JU. It employs more than 200 teachers. Each year over 4 000 students are enrolled in a variety of programmes. Additionally, 700 graduate students are enrolled in numerous post-graduate programmes. Currently, there are 52 research and 5 educational projects, financed from various sources, including EU, being carried out at the faculty.
