1. Introduction to criminal law and medicine 2. Basic principles in medical law and relevance to criminal law 3. Fundamental human rights of medical criminal law 4. Informed consent 5. Doctor's responsibility 6. Liability for breach of medical confidentiality 7. Biomedical research on humans 8. Quackery 9. Ethical and legal problems of cloning 10. Infanticide 11. Abortion 12. Euthanasia and assisted suicide 13. Transplantation of parts of the human body 14. AIDS and criminal acts of transmission of infectious and sexually transmitted diseases 15. Persons with mental disorders 16. Addiction and criminal law 17. Sexual abuse and domestic violence 18. Sterilization and castration and treatment of sexual delinquents 19. Course learning outcomes |
After completing the course, the student will be able to: 1. Name the legal rules and laws that are relevant to medical criminal law, 2. Group and explain the main idea that is common to all legal institutes of criminal law, 3. Interpret and research the resolution of fundamental human rights relevant to medical criminal law, 4. Analyze and identify the motives, causes, and consequences of different acceptance of legal provisions related to the responsibility of doctors and medical secrecy, 5. Design and construct a solution to the most acceptable legal provision on criminal offenses from a special part of the Criminal Code, 6. Critically analyze the judicial practice of domestic, foreign, and international courts, 7. To argue the adequacy of criminal sanctions for perpetrators of criminal offenses with a medical character, |
