COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course content

The subject of criminology. Methods of criminology. Definition of criminology. Relationship of criminology with other criminal sciences. Introduction to learning about the forms of punishable behavior (phenomenology). The dark figure of punishable behavior. Concept and forms, distribution, and legal framework of blood crimes, sexual crimes, violence between partners, violence against children, and property crimes. Criminological concept of return (recidivism). Criminological analysis of juvenile delinquency and delinquency of persons with mental disorders. Criminological peculiarities of organized crime, corruption, and money laundering. Phenomenological and etiological aspects of organized crime, corruption, and money laundering and their connection. Criminological analysis of the crime of semi-motivated violence (terrorism). Phenomenological and etiological aspects of computer and cybercrime. Review of criminological theories on the causes of criminal behavior (basics of etiology): positivist school, ecological theories, theory of anomie, labeling theory, theory of differential association, theory of genetic predisposition for criminal behavior, radical criminology and other criminological theories.

Course learning outcomes

After completing the course, the student will be able to: 1. Explain and describe the subject and methods of criminology , 2. Categorize and analyze the forms of punishable behavior, 3. Present and analyze criminological theories regarding the causes of punishable behavior, 4. Compare and analyze selected contemporary forms of criminality, 5. Analyze the national legislation in the fight against crime, comparing comparative law and relevant sources of international law,
