COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course content

The course Legal Position of Women Throughout the History introduces students to the historical development of legal regulation of the position of women in the European environment and in Croatian legal areas. Within the subject, it is also indicated on the regulation of the position of women with regard to the socio-economic circumstances in a particular historical period. The aim of the course is to acquire or deepen knowledge about the legal regulation of the position of women in Croatia and the corresponding European environment in the past, with a special emphasis on the period of the 19th century, when the previous position of women in the legal system partially changed. Students will be given insight into individual legal solutions in regulating the position of women, based on the analysis of legal regulations and available court practice.

Course learning outcomes

to define the basic terms related to the study of the legal regulation of the position of women in the past on Croatian areas and the European environment, describe the characteristics of the regulation of the position of women in certain legal systems in the past, analyze the influence of socio-economic circumstances in a particular historical period on regulating the position of women, compare the development of the legal regulation of the position of women in Croatian territories with the corresponding ones development in the European environment, to argue about the contemporary circumstances of the development of the legal regulation of the position of women in a relationship according to the development achieved in previous legal systems, to propose individual legal solutions on regulating the position of women,
