| Course content |
The subject Transport and Environmental Law completes and expands subject Maritime and General Transport Law. Traffic has a harmful effect on air, water, soil, produces noise, creates waste, and has a harmful effect on plant and animal life. It should also be emphasized that traffic is one of the biggest polluters of the environment, so it is not surprising that there is interest in the topic of the impact of traffic on the environment, as well as measures to reduce the negative impact of traffic on the environment. Within the scope of the subject, the basic concepts of environmental law and sustainable development, principles of environmental law, sources of pollution are explained and an overview of the most important sources of environmental law (international, European and domestic) is given. All types of transport (road, rail, air, sea, inland navigation) and the specifics of each mode of transport related to environmental pollution are studied in particular. Topics related to alternative fuels, transportation of dangerous goods and ballast water will be specially covered. Environmental protection is also analyzed. Students should apply the acquired knowledge to practice cases and develop independence and critical thinking. |
