COURSE DESCRIPTION |

Course content |
The content of the course includes work on professional terminology and phraseology of the German language in the field of demographic policy, general principles of the welfare state, disability and rights based on disability, social protection of minors, and juvenile criminal law. Particular attention is paid to the distinction between professional terms such as relative, absolute, subjective, and objective poverty; consensual divorce, divorce on the basis of a lawsuit, and the separation terms of married partners. Grammatical contents include specific types of sentences and sentence structures that are often used in professional texts in the field of social work. |
Course learning outcomes |
To adopt basic professional terminology from the field of social work, especially from the field of demographic and social-legal issues, issues of disability and rights based on disability, juvenile criminal law, and the issues of divorce law., To know how to interpret demographic indicators in Germany, Austria, and Croatia and analyze statistical data., Be able to explain in German the difference between relative, absolute, subjective, and objective poverty and the difference between consensual divorce, divorce based on a lawsuit, and that based on the spouse's separate life., Recognize and know how to apply in written and oral expression complex grammatical structures that are frequent in the language of the social work profession., Be able to talk about professional topics by using professional terms from the texts with the correct use of active and passive voice., |
