COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course content

1. Students familiarize themselves with the characteristics and definition of an interview as a method of data collection (diagnostic interview). 2. Using exercises and lectures, they observe the most important moments that influence the subjectivity and validity of the assessment before, during and after the interview. 3. The three basic phases of the interview and their elements are explained. 4. They practically conduct a diagnostic interview for a specific purpose using examples during the exercises and discuss the differences between interviews in social work with specific types of parties and users of social rights (functional interview, forensic interview, interview with a traumatized person, interview with a child, etc.). They learn about the role of the facilitator during the social work interview.

Course learning outcomes

define the interview as a qualitative assessment method in social work, describe the meaning of expertly structured questions, determine the three basic phases of the interview for data collection, interpret the specific problems of the subjective moments that influence the assessment in the interview, distinguish between the terms conversation, interview and diagnostic interview, recognize the most important technical content and the structure of the questions in a diagnostic interview, use an interview with a problematic user, a traumatized user and an interview with people with disabilities,
