COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course content
1. Evolution of the public sector and defining the public sector, 2. Characteristics of the public sector as a system, 3. Subjects in the public sector, 4. Legal entities in the public sector, 5. The role of the state in functioning of the public sector, 6. Providers and users in the public sector, 7. Public authorities, 8. Supervision of institutions in the public sector, 9. Financing the public sector, 10. Social activities and services in the public sector, 11. Infrastructural activities and services in the public sector, 12. Communal services in the public sector, 13. Additional forms of legal organisations that provide public service, 14. Public services provided by public trust entities (e.g. notary)
Course learning outcomes
explore the provision of a specific service within the public sector, write a seminar on a select public sector topic, oral presentation of select public sector topic, develop and expand citation techniques, argumented discussion on the topic of quality of provision of different services in the public sector,
