| Course content |
Legal German discourse and legal terminology analysis as regards the texts Die rechtsprechende Gewalt in Deutschland, Die ordentliche Gerichtsbarkeit nach deutschem Recht, Das Strafverfahren bis zur Verkündung des Urteils in erster Instanz. The rules of verb regimen, the use and function of prepositions, and the formation of words in the German language are introduced, with an emphasis on the forms typical of the legal German language. |
| Course learning outcomes |
distinguish legal German text from that in general language, apply appropriate legal terminology in spoken and written communication, prove understanding of legal texts by answering questions, translating and retelling, correct application of grammatical and lexical structures typical for the legal German language when dealing with the topics regarding judicial authority, judiciary, jurisdiction and criminal law in Germany , independently analyze the legal German text, identify key words and write a summary of the text, |
