Course content |
Concept and object of study of statistics. Data sources and data collection methods. Stages of statistical method work. Statistical tabulation. Graphical display of nominal and ordinal series. Relative numbers of qualitative series. Numeric strings. Graphical representation of numerical sequences. Mean values. Arithmetic mean. Median. Mod. Measures of dispersion. A standardized feature. Time series analysis. Index method. Individual indexes of permanent base. Chain indexes. Recalculation of individual indices. Mean values of time series. Group indexes. Linear trend. Regression and correlation. Method of samples. Information technology and law. Cybernetics. General system theory. Information theory. Management theory. The emergence of legal informatics: jurisprudence, application of legal informatics. Areas of application of legal informatics and information law. Types and historical development of computers. Expected learning outcomes for the course 1. Define the basic concepts of statistics 2. Recognize the type of variables and the level of their measurement in the analysis of the investigated phenomenon 3. Sketch statistical series in tables and graphics 4. Calculate simple statistical indicators 5. Describe and interpret (numerically, graphically and textually) statistical indicators 6. Describe and interpret social phenomena 7. Describe the role of information technology in law 8. Define and explain the areas of application of legal informatics and the right to information 9. Explain constitutional law as a source of the right to information 10. Observe, define and critically analyze legal phenomena using quantitative and qualitative way of expression 11.
