COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course content

Students in the seminar classes of the Economic Policy course can choose one of the offered topics or they can independently suggest a topic that they finally define with the subject teacher. The offered (potential) topics, also related to the content of the Economic Policy course, include the following: 1. Macroeconomic performance (e.g. economic growth and sustainable development) 2. Regional development policy (e.g. regional policy) 3. Entrepreneurship and development (e.g. the importance and role of entrepreneurship) 4. The role of the state in economic development (eg the gray economy and the possibilities of its suppression); 5. World and European trends (eg global financial crisis); 6. Demographic factors (eg population and development: demographic trends); 7. Labor market (eg flexibility in the labor market); 8. Analysis of individual industrial branches (eg agricultural development and agrarian policy); 9. Foreign trade policy (eg International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) - role and importance). Topics are covered from the theoretical and applied aspects. Students are especially encouraged to work on the chosen issue with special reference to the Republic of Croatia.

Sovereignly use professional economic terminology;, Observe, define and critically analyze current issues/matter in the field of theory and/or practice of economic policy;, Create a seminar paper using adequate scientific and research instruments;, Recognize and adequately apply the methodology of writing a professional or scientific paper;, Independently or in a team, publicly present the seminar work;, Ask and apply well-educated questions and participate argumentatively in discussions resulting from the presentations of various seminar topics.,

Students are obliged to prepare the written seminar paper in stages, according to the instructions of the course instructor, and submit it for verification.
