COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course content

The teaching content includes the processing of professional texts and legal terminology within the framework of the topics: Rechtsprechende Gewalt, Gerichtsbarkeit, Formelles Strafrecht, Strafverfolgung, Materielles Strafrecht, Strafrechtliche Aspekte im Internet. The rules of word formation in the German language are introduced with an emphasis on the forms typical for the language of the legal profession. An overview of grammatical structures and rules in the area of ​​word formation and word types frequent in the German language of the law is given, as well as the use of modal verbs in the subjunctive Preterite and Plusquamperfekt. From the field of syntax, the formation and use of instrumental and relative clauses are dealt with

Course learning outcomes

Distinguish between the most common types of legal texts., Apply the learned professional terminology in spoken and written communication in German, Prove understanding of legal texts by retelling them or by answering questions;, Adopt and correctly apply the grammatical and lexical structures typical of the German language of the law in the field of the judiciary, public administration, and criminal law in Croatia and Germany., By independently analyzing a professional text, find key words and know how to write a summary of the text,
