COURSE DESCRIPTION |

Course content |
Teaching content includes the processing of professional texts and legal terminology within the texts: Wills and Inheritance, European Court of Justice, Conflict of Laws, Types of English Civil Law, Contract, Negligence, Economic Social and Cultural, Forms of Business Organization. More complex grammatical structures such as conditionals, participles, and the past infinitive are introduced, and the correct use and the sequence of tenses in informal speech are especially practiced. Emphasis is placed on developing skills in writing CVs, applications, summaries, letters, and other short business texts. |
Course learning outcomes |
Recognize and differentiate between different types of professional legal texts., To apply the learned professional terminology in spoken and written communication in English., To prove understanding of legal texts by retelling their content or by answering questions related to those texts., Adopt and correctly apply grammatical and lexical structures typical for the English language of the legal profession in the field of family law, civil law, international law, contract law, and Croatian constitutional law., To know how to independently write CVs, tender applications, letters, and summaries of professional texts., |
