As part of the activities of the Jean Monnet module “European Union and Gender Equality,” the international academic conference titled “EU of Gender Equality” was successfully held on September 24, 2026 at the Faculty of Law in Osijek.
Around twenty researchers—comprising both academics and practitioners in the field of human rights protection from various Central and Eastern European countries—presented their work at the event.
The topics ranged from family relations and motherhood, through women’s participation in politics, decision-making, and sports, to issues concerning the application of artificial intelligence and gender equality, as well as linguistic and other matters.
The opening ceremony was graced by a presentation by Kristijan Kevešević, the Deputy Ombudsperson for Gender Equality of the Republic of Croatia, further underscoring the importance of the conference topics for achieving gender equality in Croatia.
The project team at EUGEquality wishes to express our gratitude to all participants for their effort and cooperation for making the conference a success.
