As part of the project “Green and Digital Transition in the European Union: Legal and Economic Aspects” (ZEDEU – 581-UNIOS-89), the Department of Financial, Maritime and General Transport Law is organizing a guest lecture entitled “Aviation Law in Practice: A Multi-Level System of Civil Aviation Regulation and Oversight (From International Standards and European Legislation to National Implementation).” The lecture is intended for students of the Faculty of Law Osijek who are interested in transport law and the legal aspects of the green and digital transition. Its aim is to provide students with additional knowledge of the legal and institutional framework governing civil aviation, with particular emphasis on the multi-level structure of its regulation, oversight, and the practical implementation of regulatory requirements. The lecture is closely aligned with the objectives of the ZEDEU project, which seeks to contribute to the development of a flexible, transparent, and efficient regulatory system that promotes sustainable development, supports green and digital innovation, and strengthens economic growth. In this context, aviation law represents a particularly relevant field for examining the challenges of regulatory adaptation to the green and digital transition.

The objective of the project “Green and Digital Transition in the European Union: Legal and Economic Aspects” is to contribute to the development of a flexible, transparent, and efficient regulatory system that promotes sustainable development, supports green and digital innovation, and strengthens economic growth.

As part of her doctoral research, Aleksandra Perković, mag. admin. publ., focuses on multi-level governance and the regulatory framework for sustainable aviation, with particular emphasis on the interrelationship between international, European, and national levels of regulation. During the lecture, she will provide students with insights into how international standards and European regulatory requirements are developed, transposed, and implemented within the national legal system and in the practice of competent authorities. Furthermore, she will connect theoretical legal knowledge with practical regulatory issues and examples from the field of civil aviation, thereby contributing to the development of an interdisciplinary approach and a deeper understanding of the role of law in achieving sustainable development goals.
