The 12th CREAN PhD Symposium, co-organised with the Faculty of Law, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, will take place from 5 to 6 November 2026 in Osijek, Croatia. Hosted for the first time in this region, the symposium offers a valuable opportunity for scholarly exchange in a vibrant and welcoming academic environment.
This year’s theme “Exploring Emerging Horizons in Children’s Rights Research Across Disciplines and Contexts”, invites reflection on evolving conceptual, thematic and methodological directions in the field. Contributions may address interdisciplinary and contextualised approaches, emerging understandings of childhood, children’s agency and participation, rights of children in vulnerable contexts, as well as the impact of technological, social and cultural changes on children’s rights. It will bring together PhD researchers and senior scholars from law, social sciences, humanities, and related disciplines to exchange ideas, discuss innovative research, and foster interdisciplinary dialogue.
Doctoral researchers working on children’s rights are warmly invited to submit abstracts by 1 July 2026.
