As part of the CEEPUS network Law & Technology, coordinated by the Faculty of Law in Osijek, the Short-Term Intensive Course Technology Meets Law: Navigating Legal Implications and Digital Technology took place successfully from 24 to 29 November 2025. The program was hosted by the Institute for Law and Technology of the Faculty of Law at Masaryk University in Brno.

The course featured lectures from teachers from the partner universities, including Boban Misoski from Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Iustinius Primus Faculty of Law; Regina Hučková from Pavol Jozef Šafárik University (UPJŠ) in Košice, Faculty of Law; Bence Kiss Kelemen from the University of Pécs, Faculty of Law; and Martina Drventić Barišin from Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek, Faculty of Law. Teachers from the host institution, Radim Polčák and Matěj Myška, opened and concluded the program with excellent introductory and closing lectures.

Throughout the course, young researchers from partner universities had the opportunity to engage with a variety of topics concerning the intersection of law and technology. Key areas of discussion included personal data protection, the ethical use of AI systems and automated decision-making, cross-border data processing, and the application of AI in the judiciary, particularly regarding criminal justice. The interactive program included group discussions, case studies, and a moot court exercise. In addition to the academic activities, doctoral students had the chance to build new connections and friendships while enjoying the festive Advent atmosphere in the city of Brno.

Participating teaching and administrative staff strengthened their partnerships and discussed directions for future collaboration within the CEEPUS network.
