Kratak sažetak predavanja: Legal decision-making depends on access to reliable legal information and on justified beliefs about what the law is. Traditionally, such information is mediated through statutes, case law, commentaries, and trusted legal information providers. Generative AI disrupts the episteic ecology by stepping in as a new kind of intermediary – one that does not merely retrieve legal sources, but provides, to a certain extent, interpretation and synthesis. The lecture examines the epistemic challenges posed by generative AI in legal practice, focusing on the issue of reliability, epistemic authority, and responsibility. I argue that the use of AI as a legal intermediary disrupts the existing assumptions about legal knowledge and professional judgment, and discuss possible professional and normative responses.
