COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course content

The aim of the course is to acquaint students with the theoretical and applied aspects of economic policy. During the course, teachers will: present basic theoretical concepts from macroeconomics, theory of development and planning, international economy and finance, from which economic policy emerges as a means of managing the national economy; analyze the national economy from the perspective of decision-makers and their economic functions, structure and openness to the outside world; define and explain the elements of economic structure as a set of subjective and objective factors of economic policy; define the term and content of economic policy, its goals and means; look critically at the implementation and effectiveness of economic policy.

Define and knew to describe macroeconomic variables and analyze their role and significance for managing the national economy;, Identify the main decision makers in the national economy and recognize and be able to explain their economic functions;, Define the economic system as a part of the social system and analyze its relationship with other subsystems and critically analyze using examples;, Identify the concept and content of economic policy and analyze the bearers, goals and means of economic policy;, Identify and recognize the determinants of economic policy efficiency and critically analyze the implementation of economic policy with special reference to the economic policy of the Republic of Croatia.,

Classes are mandatory for full time students to fulfill all obligations for the course of Economic policy. Beside obligatory literature students have available materials on the Moodle, distance learning system, Chair for Economic Sciences, Economic policy course.
